If you’re an athlete, chances are you want to improve. I’ve seen many “bad athletes” perform really well in their chosen sport. The one thing they always worked on was to become a better athlete.
In this guide, we’ll show you 5 ways to becoming a better athlete. Skim them over, check them out and put them into action so you can benefit now.
1. Yoga
That’s right. Yoga will help you become more flexible. It will also give you some sneaky strength that you won’t be expecting, especially if you haven’t done it before.
You should plan to do Yoga at least 3 times per week. As you gain experience and get better at it, ramp it up to every day per week.
2. Agility Drills
Side to side movements will really help you build muscle in the inner areas of your legs. This helps you move more fluidly and works on body control.
3. Hip Extenders
Your hips are everything as an athlete. If you can’t bend… forget it! Hip flexibility is something you need to aim for so you can move freely and not become a limited athlete.
Many coaches and players out there think you are born with your hips and you can’t improve them. I am here to tell you that they are WRONG (again) and you can improve your flexibility in your hips. It just takes some digging around for some sweet programs out there.
4. Plyometrics
Plyo workouts help you become more explosive. One example of this is a box jump. Check out the video below to see what I’m talking about:
5. Running
That’s right, running. But, not just any old running. Practice proper running form. This helps you practice good habits and will ultimetly help you run faster.
Well, now you’ll be on your way to becoming more athletic! Take these tips and put them into action now!
